Malcolm Murray - Head of Corporate

Malcolm heads up Lee & Thompson’s Corporate & Commercial Group.

He has nearly 30 years’ experience advising on company, corporate, corporate finance and general commercial deals for a range of clients operating across the creative industries, including the core entertainment sectors of music, TV, film, theatre, video games and sport, as well as the wider creative sector, including live events, advertising and marketing services, fashion and design, the visual arts, brands and digital.

Malcolm advises on all types of corporate deals including structuring start-ups, mergers and acquisitions, joint venture arrangements, private equity investments, shareholder agreements, management buy ins and outs, share option agreements and complex earn-out structures and is very familiar with the issues which tend to arise on creative industry deals including those relating to the ownership of IP and the retention of key creative individuals.

He is one of the UK’s most experienced corporate lawyers advising on the sale and purchase of music catalogues and the sale and purchase of independent television production companies.
