Immigration

Immigration law and visa requirements are complex and ever-changing, particularly in the wake of the UK’s departure from the EU

It can be challenging, confusing and sometimes frustrating for businesses to stay on top of what is required and allowed when it comes to working with and employing foreign nationals. We manage the process from start to finish, taking the pressure off and ensuring a smooth transition and successful outcome for businesses and individuals alike.

Drawing talent from around the world is particularly necessary for the media, technology and creative industries and our dedicated Immigration team is on top of its game when it comes to handling the – often complicated – legal challenges this brings.

Working closely with our Employment team and drawing on the expertise of our sector specialists, our immigration lawyers work hard to provide an efficient service for businesses hiring and retaining international talent. We give straight-forward advice to clients across multiple industries to reach your objectives.

  • Advising businesses on applying for and maintaining a sponsor licence to enable them to employ foreign employees;
  • Advising on compliance visits and conducting audits of employee files;
  • Advising on applications under the creative worker category for the entertainment industry;
  • Advising businesses on skilled worker and global business mobility applications for employees and their family members;
  • Advising on all types of indefinite leave to remain applications; and
  • Advising individuals on naturalising as British.

We also provide advice and training on carrying out the right to work checks; permissible activities as a business visitor; assisting our clients as they follow the necessary steps to ensure they are not fined for illegally employing foreign workers.

We also advise on all aspects of personal immigration including advising creatives on applications under the global talent route; UK ancestry; applications to join their fiancée, spouse or unmarried partner and certificates of entitlement to the right of abode. We have contacts at the highest levels of the Home Office, TLS and VFS and whilst we cannot guarantee a decision, we are often able to enter into dialogue with senior level officials in regard to complex cases and get applications expedited. Through our team’s continued work with ILPA for the economic migration working group, we are at the forefront of discussions with the Home Office on policy reforms and are fully up to speed with all areas of UK immigration law as well as the practicalities which are crucial to applications progressing smoothly.
