Alastair Mavor talks Co-Production at the BFI UK Global Screen Fund

28th June 2024

Alastair Mavor delivered a talk on Film & TV Co-Production Agreements to producers in Cardiff on Thursday and Friday last week as part of the British Film Institute (BFI) UK Global Screen Fund’s Co-Production Workshop 2024.

It is the third year the Workshop has been run and the issues covered by it have become more relevant than ever, with the growth of co-production across the film and television industry. Alastair’s talk covered aspects such as the different co-production structures, raising production finance, and the models for sharing rights and distribution revenues. Fellow speakers and panellists included experienced producers Conor Barry, Roshanak Behesht Nedjad and Ruth Tracey, as well as the Head of UK Global Screen Fund, Denitsa Yordanova.

Lee & Thompson has advised on a number of significant co-productions over the last year, including ‘The End’, ‘Hallow Road’ and most notably Academy Award winning film, ‘Zone of Interest’ (which managing partner, Reno Antoniades, also executive produced).
