Our Co-productions Roundtable

Last week we gathered a cross-section of up-and-coming independent producers from our NextGen Producers Collective for an insightful and informative roundtable discussion on international co-productions.

Against a backdrop of squeezed public funding, co-productions offer the opportunity to get independent film projects off the ground and it was an excellent issue for our very first roundtable for this talented group of producers.

The session covered how a co-production might be structured and funded; finding and collaborating with co-production partners; the benefits of co-productions; as well as the cross-jurisdictional challenges and requirements.

Attendees also considered the importance and value of collaboration and compromise.

We were delighted to be joined by special guest Mike Elliott of Emu Pictures and all participants were especially grateful for his insight.
