Lee & Thompson is delighted to have advised independent television production company Turbine Studios Limited and its co-founders on an investment in that company by BBC Studios, as announced today [30 November 2022].

Established in 2020 by Andrew Eaton, Tracey Scoffield, Justin Thomson and David Tanner, Turbine Studios is a high-end UK production company behind Steve McQueen’s multi-award-winning mini-series, Small Axe (BBC/Amazon), Munich: The Edge of War (Netflix) and is currently shooting Constellation, an eight-part thriller for Apple TV+.

The investment from BBC Studios will enable Turbine to further grow its creative and operational team and to invest in development.

The deal was led by Lee & Thompson’s Head of Corporate, Malcolm Murray, supported by Corporate Associate Chrissie Edgar and Film & TV Senior Associate, Luke Carey.
