Lee & Thompson is delighted to announce the promotion of three new Partners, effective from 1 April 2023.

The new Partners are Johan Ewing, Joshua Metliss and Amanda McDowall.

Johan Ewing is an integral member of the firm’s Film & Television team.  Johan joined the firm in 2017 and is highly regarded by his clients and the wider industry. His clients include leading independent production companies, financiers, distributors and completion guarantors.   His practice covers all areas of the film and television industry advising on the development, production, financing and distribution as well as on the setting up and structuring of film and television companies.

Joshua Metliss is a member of the firm’s Corporate & Commercial team.  Joshua advises businesses and individuals on all corporate and commercial matters, including structuring start-ups, reorganisations, joint ventures, shareholder agreements, debt and equity investments, acquisitions and disposals.  He has considerable experience working with clients in the media, technology and creative industries including television, film, video games, live events and exhibitions, marketing communications and music.

Amanda McDowall is a member of the Dispute Resolution team and heads up the firm’s Trade Marks Practice.  A Chartered Trade Mark Attorney, Solicitor and New York Attorney, Amanda joined Lee & Thompson in 2021 and works with clients through the life-cycle of soft IP rights.  Since joining the firm, Amanda has developed the firm’s Trade Marks practice considerably, now overseeing a team of 5 dedicated Trade Mark Attorneys, lawyers and specialists.

The promotion of Johan, Joshua and Amanda boost the total number of Partners at Lee & Thompson to 31, the largest in the firm’s 40-year history.
