We were thrilled to deliver a talk to address the ins and outs of the clearance process for feature films and TV productions to around 70 in-house lawyers last week from independent production companies, broadcasters and streamers.

Partners in our Content Clearance team Mike Brookes and Leo Dawkins teamed up with clearance experts, Jeva Films‘ Cassandra Sigsgaard, to present our joint experiences of clearing drama, docu-drama or documentaries, having worked together for many years.

The session explained exactly why it is you need to clear a production, offered some horror stories of what can happen if a production isn’t cleared, shared real life examples to show what’s key to look out for and provided practical tips of how to sidestep tricky problems. There was fantastic audience participation and some great questions, too.
