James Rushton - Senior Associate, Music

James joined Lee & Thompson in 2021 and is a senior associate in our award-winning Music team where he assists clients across the industry, from music producers and recording artists to rights companies and independent record labels.

James brings in-house legal experience from record label Island Records where he provided support to both new and internationally renowned Artists across the roster for five years, within its Legal & Business Affairs team. Prior to this role James worked in-house within the musical theatre industry at The Really Useful Group.

James read Law at the University of Manchester then completed his LPC at BPP Holborn in 2013. Having trained at City firm King & Wood Mallesons, James built up experience in the Commercial and Technology teams.
