Our Vacation Scheme: Summer 2025

Lee & Thompson is now accepting applications for this year’s Vacation Scheme.

We are inviting applications for a one-week Vacation Scheme, commencing on Monday 30 June 2025!  The week will comprise a series of practical exercises, talks and networking opportunities within our Film, Television & Games, Music, Corporate & Commercial, Employment and Dispute Resolution teams.

Our hope is that the Vacation Scheme will give you a real taste of working in a law firm specialising in the media, technology and creative industries, whilst helping us to identify potential future Paralegals. (Please note, there is no guarantee of a Paralegal role following attendance on the Vacation Scheme and training contracts / places on our SQE Training Programme are only offered to individuals who have worked at Lee & Thompson as a Paralegal for at least six months.) Each Vacation Scheme attendee will be paid £400 to cover expenses during the five days of the programme.

Applicants must make sure they will be available to attend the Vac Scheme at our offices for the whole of the week of 30 June 2025.

Requirements and Considerations

We’re keen to see applications from anyone who:

• Demonstrates a genuine commitment to pursuing a career as a solicitor in the worlds in which we are immersed: media, technology and the creative industries; and
• Has an academic background evidencing the applicant’s ability to cope with the demands of the role of a solicitor – we’d typically expect applicants to have graduated and attained a 2.1 degree in Law OR graduated and attained a 2.1 degree in another subject and have commenced or completed the law conversion (GDL or the equivalent). But (in each case) if you have extenuating circumstances, we will still consider your application.

As part of the application, applicants must also write a letter of a maximum of 250 words in the form, setting out why you would like to attend Lee & Thompson’s Vacation Scheme and what you believe you could bring to the firm in the long term.

Please note that CV-only applications will not be considered.

Deadline

The completed form and letter must be emailed to: vacscheme@leeandthompson.com to reach us by Monday 31^st March 2025 (any applications received after this will not be considered).

Interviews

Applicants will be notified by 16 May 2025 whether they are being offered an interview. Interviews will take place virtually (via Microsoft Teams) in late May/early June 2025.
